You know the end, I am certain. “The Full Faith and Credit of the United States Government.” That sums it up, in ten words. Last time I checked, my credit score was 815, meaning that anyone wanting to see if I am worthy of credit, that number says it all. I wonder what the credit number of the U.S. is? It must be pretty high, as everyone seems to want to trust it with their life’s savings.
Even wonder why the U.S. government, doesn’t make refrigerators? Because, they probably wouldn’t very last long, would cost a fortune to buy and run, and wouldn’t get very cold. Ever wonder why the U.S. government, doesn’t make cars, railroad locomotives, airplanes, or guns? Same reasons. That’s why, as far back as you can count, private industry, has always made the Army’s, Navy’s, and Marines’ planes, tanks, ammunition, guns, ships, and even uniforms. Can you imagine what a WW II B-17 would have been, if it had been made by the U.S., rather than Boeing?
In all nations on Earth, and in America as well, no government can create wealth, or manage anything, other than as a joke. All the wars we have been in, (the last one we won, was WW II), were fraught with huge errors, and if you have ever seen “Patton,” you will; understand. The larger the government, the poorer and less efficient they will be. Even locally, in my town of 19,000, the county and city governments, constantly make large errors, which in a private industry, could have been fatal. Governments have power to do things, neither you nor I, can do or act. We don’t have a police force, sheriff, or a fancy court, with judges to cover for their mistakes. Fortunately, the U.S. Supremes, last week, nullified many of the bureaucratic outrages, which have been thrust upon citizens and businesses, over the last hundred plus years. Uncontrollable bureaucracy, thanks to Trump’s installing three conservative justices, has been dealt a severe blow. Right now, heads of hundreds of bureaucracies, are devising plans to negate the Court’s vote. We can all hope they will not succeed.
Governments at various levels, run public schools, and the results are easy to see, if you ever watch street corner interviews and questions asked from college kids, just as examples. Public schools, simply cannot do even a smidgen as well, as did one room school houses, 150 years ago, paid for by parents. My best friend Paul, was raised on a Montana ranch by caring parents, who saw to it that their one room school house, which taught not only Paul, but hie brothers, all in one room, did a superb job. I was lucky enough, to go to a superb private school, except the last two years of high school, and those two years in public school, were so absurd, that I took off every Wednesday, never took a book home, and was offered a scholarship at graduation, thanks to the private school’s previous influence. If there ever was a classic failure of governments, at all levels, it is the public-school systems.
America, a hundred years ago, saw the need for transportation. Private industries, with capital raised with loans or stock offerings, built subways, streetcar lines, interurban systems, bus lines, and they showed a profit, paid dividends to share-holders, and expanded into major cities. Today, they’ve been seized, are run by governments, and show enormous losses. Private industry, built Greyhound bus lines, and they pay huge taxes on fuel, and to run on government roads. They show profits, in spite of the heavy taxes. Delta, and other airlines, pay huge landing fees and taxes on their fuel, and flight controls. They pay dividends and show profits. Private capital, built Union Pacific, and hundreds of thousands of miles of rail lines in America, owned by many companies. They pay taxes on every mile of right of way, on every building they own, on every gallon of fuel they burn, and still pay dividends and show profits. America, under Trump, became an exporter of oil, gas, and coal. In spite of heavy taxes levied upon them, they showed profits, and paid dividends to their owners and investors. Biden’s government is so disgusting, that the English lexicon, has no expletives strong enough to describe it
I just finished a book titled simply, “Telephones.” It’s a good read, and it starts out with Alexander Graham Bell’s, invention, and went through today’s, systems. Never a subsidy, and always has shown a profit, besides patenting thousands of inventions, such as the transistor, making our lives and industries great, and with no government interference, other than patents.
Just about every American industry, is listed on the New York Stock Exchanges, and they all run on private capital, show profits, and inventions made by their employees. They’re taxed to the hilt by government, which wastes just about every dollar they collect, it seems, and still show a profit to their investors. America’s electrical grid, media, communications, travel, shipping, mining, inventions, manufacturing, farming, etc., are all run by private managements, built by private capital, and have done their very best to tolerate endless bureaucratic meddling, taxation, and regulating. Still, they survive. The post office, losses billions each year, but UPS and FedEx show profits. Comparisons, seem to be myriad, but the point of this, which should be obvious, even to liberals, and I hope this get forwarded to them, is that government does nothing efficiently, and much of it should be abolished anyway. Does the Depart of Energy, generate any electricity? Does the Department of Education, educate anyone? Does the Department of labor, hire anyone, other than more bureaucrats? Does the Department of Transportation, transport anything? Does the Department of Commerce, sell anything?
Why then, do probably 90% of Americans, think that the US. Government has enough reputation or credibility, for investors to buy their bonds, and save in their dollars? Currently, the dollar’s loss is close to 9% of its value, or purchasing power each year, and their bonds pay less than 3% interest, when the inflation rate is three times that? Gold and silver, thankfully, are not like Bitcoins, which are backed by nothing, and have no value. Gold and silver, require no sophisticated computer system, which system had Bitcoin go from $67,800 to $20,000 in three weeks. Gold and silver, are self-backed, beautiful, and are not involved in any government, anywhere on Earth. If government ran the gold and silver mines, there probably wouldn’t be any! Gold and silver, just sit there, un-molested, un-controlled, and make every other investment jealous, they’re so simplistic. Ho Hum.
