The Road to Ruin

In 1994, I wrote a piece called, “Road to Ruin,” and I like the title, but that article was 3450 words long, so I’ll just epitomize parts of it.  Here’s one paragraph:

“No country in history, that began a welfare system, has ever survived.  From the Roman Empire to today, with all civilized lands having welfare systems, all are eventually doomed, eventually.  It’s a simple equation.  Those who get something for nothing, will always demand more and appreciate less.  Those who provide it; the politicians; will always provide more and more, so they can continue their posh offices, and win elections.  A politician will always vote the will of the majority, rather than what is right, and the Democratic Party, will always court the weaklings, thoughtless, and illegals, have almost become the majority.  Throughout history, politicians have destroyed their own nations, by bankrupting them.  Kings and senators alike, have destroyed, rather than built, with that evil word “Power.”

Here’s another paragraph: “America’s desire to help and be kind, as opposed to nature’s way of allowing the weak and inept to fail and disappear from their midst, is destroying America and the world.  The animal kingdom, is a harsh place to live.  Just ask any lion, penguin, gnat or bird!  They live, if they deserve to live, and are strong enough to care for themselves.  When they get sick or old, they are eaten or die, if they can’t care for themselves, as there are no nursing homes for sick elephants, which are paid for by young, healthy elephants.  America was healthy before FDR.”  Another paragraph follows;

“I have watched America tax the workers, and give it to the indolent, lazy, and useless, who show their gratitude, by committing hideous crimes and assaults on us workers, who involuntarily support them with outrageous taxes, levied from the environs of Washington D.C.’s politicians and bureaucrats.  I watch gangs in major cities pillage, rape and destroy, while we are forced to tolerate, cringe, and move away.”

Here’s another paragraph: “The welfare system, has destroyed once beautiful, productive cities, and made former wealth and job producing factories, become burned out hulks, from fires and jobs going to China.  The welfare system, has destroyed our schools, filling them with the offspring of the worthless, who have no desire to learn or become productive, but to inflict pain and suffering on those who do.  Welfare has destroyed once wonderful neighborhoods, by making no down-payment purchases by un-qualified ‘buyers,’ possible in the form of various government programs, supposedly helping, but in reality, destroying.  What we tax, we get less of, and what we subsidize, we get more of.”

Here’s the last, long paragraph: “There is no more excuse for the federal government stealing our hard-earned money and handing it to those who have none, than there would be for a sick, lazy, or inept animal to live.   How to get rid of a system, that from its very beginning, is self-destructive?  I have a list of things which could be done to gradually eliminate the system.  Here’s a couple: (1) Never repair or replace a single public housing unit, and as they are ruined by their occupants, tear them down.  (2)  Sell the interstates to the highest bidders, and turn them into toll roads, which would pay taxes and show a profit.  (3) Sell all the “public lands,” except the national parks to the highest bidders, who would care for them and make the productive.  The government has no title to them anyway, since were confiscated anyway in 1847. (4)  Never subsidize anything for any reason, and current existing subsidies must be gradually removed, maybe over a ten-year period.  This includes university subsidies, food stamps, transportation subsidies, and the like.   (5) No more foreign aid.  We made it on our own, and throughout history, those who made it, made it on their own.  We fought the world’s strongest nation, England, and won, with help from France, which we re-paid. (6) Over the same ten year time period, eliminate most regulatory agencies, other than possibly State, Treasury, and a couple others.  From the sale of federal stuff, pay off the national debt, and there would be no more deficits and currency devaluation.”  Wouldn’t that be nice?  Don’t hold your breath, since FDR, it has become a runaway train, with no chance of slowing or braking it before it (we) crash.
