I wrote a long time ago, about Hobby Lobby’s having 99% of their merchandise made in China. I’s also Home Depot, Walmart, and a host of others, which are contributing to our enemy’s prosperity. It probably started with Nixon, who befriended a backward, communist, enslaved state, running as if chairman Mao were still alive, and murdering millions.
Think about it. Which nation started the covid epidemic, which has killed millions? Which nation produces fentanyl, and exports it to America, while being certain that none of it gets into its own nation? Which nation is incapable of doing much of anything, until it steals our technology? Which nation makes a good part of our prescription drugs? Which nation has its kids going to our universities, and probably stealing our technology? Which nation is buying our land, farms, corporations, and even our entertainment industry? I can go on and om, but I hope you get the picture.
And still, our major corporations and even government, buys from them and attempts to make peace with them. The years from 1969 to 1974, was about when the China boom began, with slaves working in newly built factories, for maybe a quarter U.S. an hour, and Walmart becoming their biggest customer. Not Sam Walton, but his kids, who became the richest kids in America. Did they follow their Dad’s advice and practice, which made them so rich? They obviously didn’t, and others followed, to the literal debasement of America, with millions losing their jobs, and thousands of factories closed. My kids followed me, and I’m proud of them. We’d just finished with the Japs killing our auto industry, (and also teaching us how to build quality cars), and the Chinks filled in the spot with cheap merchandise and cheap labor. Big big-box stores, and chains were delighted to follow Walmart, and still are doing a bang-up job of having hundreds of thousands of containers (which were invented in 1955), arriving in U.S. ports weekly, and being send back to China empty. It makes me sick. Just think of a huge cargo ship containing hundreds of huge containers, all carrying China made stuff for sale to us.
Is America so awfully stupid, as not to realize that each container, is a nail in our coffin? Maybe not, as they elected Joe Biden, who without a teleprompter, probably couldn’t form a sentence. Chinese stuff is so integrated into our stores, as to make it virtually impossible not to by their stuff. I am certain that if someone wanted to make an item, now 100% made in China, and made it or them in America, and whose packaging colors were red, white, and blue, and bold lettering proclaiming “MADE IN THE USA,” even if they cost more, I’ll bet that America would buy them, and a chain might start.
Someone out there, anyone who wants to start something, or who has manufacturing capability, take just one item made in China, and go to Bentonville Arkansas, and tell the Walmart buyer, that you can make 10,000 of them, or however many would place them on Walmart shelves, and do it with 100% American materials and labor, and boldly say made in America, and have red, white, and blue colors in the packaging. I’ll bet Walmart might buy them. Maybe combs, or something simple and in great use.
I refuse to sell Chinese gold or silver, and I am very careful about my purchases, as I hope you are too. Tesla did it I think, and cheap Chinese labor is giving them competition, just as the world decided it doesn’t want a 250 mile car needing a charge. There’s word out there that Mexico is stealing Chinese manufacturing, because it can be shipped across our border without that 7,000 mile trip across the Pacific. A few years ago, I did a possible red, white, and blue comb idea, and it had possibilities, but I never got to the point of contacting a manufacturer, or try to sell 10,000 of them. I’m too old now, but you might not be. I’ll bet that Trump supporters and red-blooded Americans, would buy a patriotic comb, of invest a few bucks into a domestic comb plant. Trump is selling American made hats and shirts. Maybe those factories could make combs? These are just observations that something must be done to stop dollars from being shipped to China
I heard yesterday, that Argentina, who elected a libertarian president, and promised to cut inflation, is having remarkable success. He cut government payroll, handouts, has switched to the U.S. dollar, and inflation has been cut by two thirds so far, and the effort continues. Go to it Argentina!
