Science?

From parts of a 8/24 Wall Street Journal

“Even Democrats don’t want to hear about climate change.  The words were barely mentioned at the convention, and every transcript I examined, omitted the once obligatory Biden modifier.  The reason isn’t a mystery.  Joe Biden’s policies are having not the slightest effect on climate change, and yet somebody will still have to pay Ford’s $130,000 a year losses per electric vehicle in the first quarter.  This sum, a calculation shows, is equal to $64.90 per gallon of gasoline saved over four years of average driving.  The flaw in the Biden strategy from the get-go, completely defeats the goal of reducing emissions.

“From the prestigious journal, Science: “1500 ‘climate’ policies adopted around the world, finds only 63 – or – 4% – produced any emissions reductions.”  Obama-Biden Democrats, sponsored a study by a future Nobel Prize winner, who wrote that green subsidies, are a “Poor tool for reducing greenhouse gasses, and achieving climate-change objectives.”  Yet this poor strategy Mr. Biden, would later quadruple down with upwards of $1 trillion in taxpayer and energy consumer money.  Mr. Biden’s green-energy strategy was wrong-headed, with nothing to show now, except billions added to the deficit, and a budding disaster from forcing Detroit to build EV’s the public doesn’t want.  The Science Magazine study, pointed out that extra fossil fuel is consumed, producing battery minerals, wind turbines, and solar panels.

“The 2023 data have arrived.  Fossil fuel use, emissions and green energy, all have grown right alongside each other, as economics predicted.  Global emissions finally broke the 40 billion gigatron threshold, having doubled since 1984.  Obama handler David Axelrod ventured on CNN this week, saying that the Democratic Convention had turned out to be a “value-laden” affair, short on “Policy-specifics.”  This understates how thoroughly the convention left voters having to guess how Kamala Harris will act on a myriad of issues.  Their only guide is apparently that she doesn’t kick puppies and Donald Trump does.” Holman Jenkins, Jr.

Worried about the election?  I am, and from page 335 of a book I wrote 30 years ago, (I Hold These Truths), here’s a paragraph.  “Politicians think they are smart, but they aren’t.  They are drunk with power, overpaid. underworked, undeserving, and beneath most Americans who work for a living.  The old saying goes that, “The trouble with politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”

Trump or Biden?  Biden has never done a lick of work at any time in his aged lifetime.  He’s become a multi-millionaire by lies and politics.  His son turned out badly.  Trump has never done any physical work, but much of his personal wealth has been earned by his brain and effort.  His kids turned out pretty good.  He can’t keep his big moth shut, and sometimes I think he deliberately acts and says things which will defeat him, but his speeches tell every American what they want, and even the ‘no Trumpers.’  I’m still going to vote for, and send money to him.
