Capital punishment, has been eliminated around the world, and partially in the U.S. as well. To me, capital punishment for murderers, rapists, perpetual criminals, and you name it, is logical, humane, justifiable, and very reasonably priced. There are hundreds of millions of usually men in the world, which should be put out of our misery, and theirs too. With DNA testing, there’s no reason for mistaken convictions, regardless of ‘witnesses’ proclaiming the innocence of the accused. A jury trial should be the end of the situation, other than a coroner’s certification after the execution.
Tens of thousands die each year from traffic accidents, and thousands killed in accidents which were not their fault. If perps in traffic accidents weren’t killed, capital punishment should be unquestioned for them. Many thousands are killed by drug overdoses, swimming, drowning, falling, and electrocutions from various sources. Lightening kills thousands, as do bath tub falls even. Death is the ultimate result of all of our lives, and if it ends prematurely for criminals, so what?
How many millions have been wantonly killed, even in Biblical times, in wars or myriad ways? WW II alone, killed over 20 million Russians, close to 400,000 Americans, and heaven only knows how may Brits and Germans. Liberals aren’t fuming over those hundreds of millions of deaths. Only those who have been found guilty without doubt, and have been sentenced to death, are the ‘concerns’ of the lefties, Democrats, and weepies with tears running down their faces, with the horror of killing rapists, murderers, and their like.
Appeals can take years, and the guilty can be on ‘death row’ for decades. Why not let a jury verdict hold? Modern executions are not inhumane, but given with a shot, which puts the criminal to sleep with no pain. The electric chair and firing squad, have long ago disappeared.
Life imprisonment, with no chance of parole? Get real! Feeding, keeping healthy, and holding a prison inmate, confined and in jail, costs tens of thousands each year, per prisoner, and that alone, is inhumane to me. Forget about the “Birdman of Alcatraz,’ movie. Great film, but no excuse not to have capital punishment. We can hope that Republicans and Trump, can or will try to stop this drain on our economy by executing, not holding evil-doers forever, in expensive prisons.
Even the Bible is in favor of capital punishment, and commands it be done. Exodus 21:12, in a modern translation reads, “One who strikes a man so that he actually dies, is to be put to death, without fail.” Like the King James? Verses 14 – 17 in the JK says, ”But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine alter, that he may die. He that smites his father or his mother, shall surely be put to death. He that stealeth (Kidnapped) and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. He that curseth his father or his mother, shall surely be put to death.”
In 1882, the last of the famous Thugee, were killed by the Brits. One of them bragged that he had killed over 900 innocents. One of the great illustrations of the Thugee, is Rudyard Kipling’s 1890 poem, “Gunga Din,” which was made into a 1939 film. “Gunga Din,” was directed by George Stevens, and stars Cary Grant and Doug Fairbanks Jr. Buy one and own it. I watch mine every so often, and feel so sorry, when Din dies for his heroic actions.
Metals
Had Trump lost, gold and silver would be far higher now, but he won, and has caused a correction in both, but only temporary. I checked cost of producing both, and it seems as though silver spot, is running pretty close to its cost to explore, mine, mill, smelt, manufacture, and distribute. Gold, while of course easier to store, now seems to be above its cost to produce. Both are insurance against not only inflation, but every possible happening here or in the rest of the world. Use present prices as a bargain not to be missed.
