Imagine A Siphon

Ever run out of gas? It isn’t a pleasant experience. As a matter of fact, it is an inconvenience of heroic proportions. Last time I did it, was on the way to Las Vegas in Sherman, the 1979 Lincoln I wrote about a long time ago, and which I still use on road trips because of its smoothness and luxury. Had just gotten off of Interstate 70, and was on Interstate 15, and it sputtered to a halt. The gauge said there were zero miles left, and I now know it works fine. Fortunately, I had my cell phone, and a Utah State Trooper gave me a lift to a gas station and back again, at no charge. This is beside the point of course. As a kid, when I ran out of gas, I siphoned gas out of a can or car that had some, and put it in my tank. A siphon is a wonderful scientific phenomenon. The weight of the liquid falling out of the tube, pulls out liquid from the full container, and with no pumping of any kind, liquid will flow. Farmers us it constantly to siphon water out of an irrigation canal, onto their fields. It is currently being used economically. A blizzard of liquidity dollars is being siphoned out of America, and into China, Japan, Korea, and various other places around the world.

It is said that we manufacture but 16% of what we consume, and import 39% of what we eat. A gigantic siphon of liquid capital. As you might well understand, when the gas can is empty, or the irrigation ditch is dry, a siphon can no longer take place, because there is nothing left to siphon. A million dollars a minute, is what is being siphoned out of America. Day and night, thousands of containers arrive in Los Angeles, Seattle, or other docks. Containers loaded with foreign things for Americans to buy. The purchase price of these foreign things, goes back to the Orient in the main, after the profit is taken by the China Marts, Home Depots, Hobby Lobbys, and most American retailers, for that matter. The US Army even tried to have their soldier’s hats made in China, until some Congressman stopped it. Many of our motion picture companies, tire manufacturers, auto companies, and even Burger King, send their profits back to their owners in foreign lands. Try to buy an American TV or camera. Do you use Kodak or Fugi film?

The problem is not with you or I, in the main anyway, but with the WTO and NAFTA, both of which our rulers in Babylon on the Potomac, gladly signed on to, with nary a thought of results. That elected crowd of parvenu patricians have never looked back at their votes, or given second thoughts to reneging on, or changing them. Their gas gauges indicate disaster, like Sherman’s registered zero, but the siphon continues. What can we do to avoid the problem? Not much, unless you wish to totally do without. I buy all I can that is American made, but sometimes it is impossible. The Japanese car makers build grand, non-union plants, in low wage Southern States, and boast of helping America. The profits go back to Tokyo. Mexican labor and factories build just about everything it seems, and we consume. More siphoning. We consume New Zealand beef, Brazilian fruits, and place Japanese Bridgestone tires on our cars. More siphoning.

The question is, at the rate of a million dollars a minute, how long can we have any capital left? Or is our “capital,” merely mortgages, credit card debt, and $30 trillion of current and contracted for federal debt? Are we merely “doing each others laundry,” as wrongly imprisoned Congressman James Trafficant once said? Is this so called “service economy,” just that? When a nation doesn’t make what it consumes, or grows what it eats, can it long endure? Can a million dollars a minute, be siphoned out of the American container forever?

Naturally, with no other place to spend it, some say that the foreign entities simply buy US debt with their profits, because if they bought gold, the price would go to the sky, and destroy all of the world’s currencies, so it is all OK. The “money” comes back to America, when they buy US debt, and all the whoopsing is in error. I disagree! If we are doing each others laundry, and the dollars return to buy US debt, all that is doing, is increasing the number of dollars in circulation, making them worth less and less, thereby bankrupting the citizenry, while government is free to continually spend and spend and spend. As if that isn’t bad enough, all the profits do not come back here to purchase US debt. China is spending trillions on the world’s largest dam, paving roads, building skyscrapers, and of course arming and equipping a huge army. Many billions of dollars are also buying US property and stocks as well, thereby removing ownership of real estate, businesses, and corporations from American, and into foreign hands.

Simple logic, says that deficits at the rate of a million dollars a minute, a million dollars an hour, or a million dollars a day, will eventually remove all the capital from America, and transfer it into foreign hands. If US government debt is bought, because they think that if they don’t, it may upset their apple cart, then even our corrupt government is in their hands. They are welcome to it, as far as I am concerned, provided they take it home, and don’t leave it here. Government economists, like most government employees, are not of the highest caliber, or they wouldn’t work for government.

It is not surprising then, that these hack economists say my signs and portents are false and irrelevant. What is one to expect, other than one would take up for, lie for, and exaggerate for, the one paying their salary. Do we expect federal judges to rule in favor of one finding fault with their employer? Do we expect a federally paid judge in a tax court, to rule in favor of a taxpayer wronged, or the payer of that judge’s salary? Why would the Treasury Department, Sir Alan, or any other employee of any division or department of the federal government, tell the truth, be smart, or in any way debase, legislate against, or in any way interfere with their employer’s philosophies or plans? Not likely.

We then, like prisoners in a cell, must look out for ourselves, since government doesn’t care, or know the difference. This is what the “One Worlders” have brought upon us, in their desire to “equalize” everyone. The Chinese are hurting the Japanese, because their production costs are lower, thereby bringing down the Japanese. Will it all move to Africa next, bringing down the Chinese? I can see it all now! 30 years from now, everything will be made in Africa, rather than China. The whole world will then be “equal,” as those DC drones, liberal right thinkers and forward lookers desire. America will be a heap of poor folk who have been “equalized,” to the level of the rest of the world’s trash. Clint Eastwood had the best “equalizer,” and I wish someone would ’equalize’ the DC crowd into oblivion, so America could once again be the envy of the world, rather than the laughing stock. Protect yourself, because the patroons on the Potomac care only about enlarging their patriarchy. There’s a new political party out there, called “America First.” Check it out at americafirstparty.org.
