Everyone Own A Gun

Everyone have a gun? I think it would be glorious!  Of course, the gun haters would be shrieking bloody murder, saying that millions would be murdered, gun crimes would escalate, and make America a perpetual war zone, with zombies and mad killers roaming the streets, killing thousands, just for the fun of it.  That’s absurd.  Think of it.  No more gun licenses, carry permits, federal investigations, or other folderol.  Guns available at hardware stores, or any other place that decides to sell them.  It would be WONDERFUL!  With everyone owning a gun, robbers and criminals, would simply be out of work.  Most crime would instantly disappear.  Anyone committing a crime, would be placing their life in great jeopardy.  Everyone would have one, and probably carry one with them.  Muggings?  Forget it.  Even if the victim had no gun, surrounding people would, and the rapist or criminal creep, would surely be shot.  Think about it, with no pre-conceived prejudices.  There are more cars in America, that there are people, and the automobile is a dangerous, killing, crime facilitating, item.  Tens of thousands are killed each year with cars.  There are millions of knives of all sorts around, many of which are proudly worn on belts.  There are huge, sharp, hunting knives, and other knives around, with no licensing required.  Swiss Army knives, pen knives, steak knives, and few are killed with knives, or robbed with knives yearly.  Why not?  I have no idea, but with the huge variety of knives around, of all sizes and shapes, it is an open invitation for criminals to use them, but they rarely do.  Vary few cars are used in crimes.  If everyone had a gun, gun committed crime would disappear.  Cars and knives are capable of wholesale killing and crime commissions, but rarely do they do it, and both are legal.

A gun is the best possible method of defending ones self from a distance, before the criminal has close contact with you.  Most crimes are committed with no gun, but the threat of one.  Everyone possessing a gun, would simply eliminate criminals using a gun to commit their dastardly deeds.  That eliminates their source of income and terrorizing innocents, if innocents had a gun to point back. America is witnessing mass crimes, usually with dozens or more blacks storming into a jewelry store or mall, and stealing everything they can lay their hands, on before anyone can stop them.  If everyone had a gun, that would be a thing of the past.  People carry guns to protect themselves, and must go through ’education’ and licensing to be allowed to carry one.  Nuts to that!  You register to carry, and they have your name and address, when they decide to pick up everyone’s.  Why not register knives, baseball bats, or poison available at the grocery store?  A newly wed bride recently pushed her hubby off a cliff and killed him.  Let’s see…what can we register to stop this type of thing?  If everyone had a gun, or was at least allowed to have one and encouraged to have one, crime would virtually disappear.

Why would a person wanting to be a criminal, thinking it would be ’easy money,’ even consider it, if everyone had a gun?  Bank robbery?  All the tellers would be armed and shoot to kill.  A robber holding up a bank teller, with other tellers around with guns, and guards with guns, and bank officers with guns?  Forget it.  If everyone had a gun, I would imagine that the jails might well be virtually empty eventually, other than occupied by ’white collar crime.’ criminals.  Even the drug war, which is absurd anyway, would probably not have much crime any more, if everyone on both sides were armed.  Drug sellers, buyers, and suppliers all armed?  That would make drugs almost on the free market.  Prices would go down, and it is doubtful that there would be drug crime, if all sides were armed.

Everyone owning a gun, might not stop auto theft, but most cars are virtually impossible to steal now anyway, thanks to built in alarms and theft protection.  Car jacking would cease, I am certain, if drivers all were packing a gun.  Car jacking, would become a rather perilous occupation.  A car jacker might get killed.  Everyone owning a gun, should be encouraged to shoot to kill.  Saves a lot of court costs.  Guns are marvelous items of self defense.  A defense which can be carried out from quite few yards, with no physical contact.  Pepper spray or other spray things?  Nah.  They may stop a crime, but the criminal goes free, and he should have been shot and killed.  Why has America self degraded itself, by not executing insane killers?  Why is capital punishment not logical?  99% of all the school shooters, theatre shooters, etc, are insane, but if the surrounding theatre patrons, school teachers, and other victims were armed, such a thing probably wouldn’t happen, and if it did, would be very short lived.  If all the teachers and employees of that Connecticut school had been armed, the insane murderer who stole his mother’s gun and killed her first, might not have even gotten to the school, before he was stopped.

I have never shot anyone, nor even threatened to do so, because I have never had the opportunity to do so, but here’s an example of a crime that could have been stopped before it happened.  In 1956, I had built a drive-in theatre in Southern Maryland.  I had a neighbor farmer as a ticket seller, while I was in the projection booth, ’operating.’  Dorsey called me on the intercom one night, and said, “Don, I have been shot.”  I raced to the box-office, and Dorsey had been robbed and shot.  If he had been armed, he would have simply shot the robber, or the robber wouldn’t have tried to do it in the first place.  The black robber was caught and put in jail.  The bullet could not be removed from Dorsey, and he lived the rest of his life with it in him, and he collected worker’s comp, as he should have.  I don’t think it shortened his life, but that crime need not have happened, is the point.

Here’s a few dates and happenings, which may be of interest:  In 1975, a goofy Democrat, fired shots at Gerald Ford.  In 1983, a nut case Democrat, shot Ronnie Reagan.  In 1984, an insane Democrat, shot and killed 22 people in a McDonald’s restaurant.  In 1986, a mentally ill Democrat, shot and killed 15 people in an Oklahoma Post Office.  In 1990, a maniacal Democrat, shot and killed ten people in a GMAC office.  In 1991, a  mentally challenged Democrat, shot and killed 23 people in a Luby’s cafeteria.  In 1995, a evil minded Democrat, shot and killed five co-workers in a Texas laboratory.  In 1999, a hair-brained Democrat, shot and killed eight people at a church service.  In 2001, a addled brain Democrat, fired shots at the White House, attempting to kill George W. Bush.  In 2003, a  deranged Democrat, shot and killed seven people in a Lockheed-Martin Plant..  In 2007, a irrational Democrat, shot and killed 32 at Virginia Tech.  In 2010 a psychotic Democrat, shot Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, and killed six others.. In 2011, a senseless Democrat, shot and killed 12 in a Colorado Theatre.  In 2012, a mentally unsound  Democrat, shot and killed seven in Minneapolis.  In 2013, a registered Democrat, shot and killed 26 children in a school, after killing his mother.  It isn’t guns, but Democrats!  Have a good January.  No more columns till February 5th, probably.

P.S.   The oil train derailment and fire in North Dakota, has the TSA goons on the scene, saying it will “take probably a year, ” for their determination.  The railroad knew in about ten minutes.  Maybe a broken rail, or defective wheel flange.  The railroad has already set up an office to pay for the inconvenience caused.  How much taxpayer money will the TSA cost…for nothing?  What happened, was a grain train on adjacent track, derailed, and one of the derailed grain cars, struck a tank car, etc.  Billions of barrels of oil have been shipped by rail, with not  single accident till North Dakota.  Oil shipping by rail, according to actual statistics, is cheaper and safer than pipelines.  Oil producers love shipping by rail, as they can dictate destinations.  With pipe lines, it all goes to one place, and the cost to build and operate them is astronomical.  The Canadian disaster was caused by lax Canadian rules, which have never existed in America, and Canada has changed their operating rules now…after the accident.
